Whispers in the night lead to sweet surrender . . . but what will the dawn bring?

Anger. Guilt. Sorrow. They've strangled Cole for years-and now they've literally damaged him. With his knee out of commission, Cole knows the road to recovery will be nothing but long and irritating . . . until his beautiful and determined neighbor offers to help him in return for a favor. But soon Cole finds himself offering her so much more. Their unexpected passion lays Cole bare, body and soul. And leaves him wondering how he'll walk away before he ruins her life, too.

Gruff, secretive, and coiled with tension that begs for release, Cole is too intriguing for Serena to resist. The English accent and brooding brown eyes don't hurt, either. Their nights are beyond compare-yet the truths Cole confesses in his darkest moments reveal a heart bruised almost beyond repair. But Serena's seen the kindness and support he shows when she needs it most. Armed with a bottomless well of patience and devotion, she'll show Cole just how good it can be to let someone in . . .

Miranda’s Review

Confessions in the Dark by Jeanette Grey is a stand-alone romance that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to smash Cole’s face in… Jeanette Grey has yet to disappoint with her sultry, sweet storytelling — I can never seem to separate myself from my Kindle long enough to check in with reality when one of her books is in hand.

Character and relationship development was completely spot on throughout this book. Cole and Serena had sexual tension in spades despite Cole’s prickly attitude. Serena, such a sweet and caring soul. She gave her everything to her friends, family, and Cole, even when they really didn’t deserve it.

‘So much of their acquaintance thus far had been fraught with these confessions in the dark, but for that little, beautiful pocket of time, the shadows had receded. Maybe it was simply that they’d traumaed themselves out.’

There were so many moments when I wanted throw my Kindle at the wall just to work out my frustrations with Cole. Infuriating! But when he starts opening up and you find out why he is how he is, it makes you want to wrap his stubbornness up in a hug and not let him go. Also, I have to give mad props for his character having the most creative ways to curse I’ve read in a long time. I laughed out loud several times and had to share with my book whore friends because they were that ridiculously funny.

If you’re looking for a romance fraught with sexual tension and so many feels you’ll have whiplash with ups and downs (in the best way) then you have to read Confessions in the Dark.
