Miranda’s Review

**If you have not read Promised and Denied in the One Night series yet there could be mild spoilers for you in this review.**

One Night: Unveiled by Jodi Ellen Malpas is the third and final book in the One Night trilogy. These have to be read in order, they are not stand-alone stories. I was completely blown away with the perfection of the writing style and the exquisite way Malpas let this story unfold. Just when I thought I had the story figured out, another secret crawled out of the darkness to wreak it’s destruction on the future Miller and Livy were desperately trying to hold onto.

My emotions were all over the place as I read this book. There are moments when I screamed at my Kindle begging Livy to just think, but then the Taylor Sass would take over and I was caught watching the train wreck unfold. Despite the frustration wrought from her knee-jerk reactions I am absolutely fascinated by Olivia Taylor. She’s a beautifully crafted character that you cannot help but root for.

“I’m so fucking fascinated by you.”

There are so many secondary characters that impact the story of Livy and Miller and to mention them individually would connect dots that shouldn’t be connected unless you are actually reading the book. Somehow, Malpas not only told Livy and Miller’s story, but she opened windows into the lives of everyone that surrounded them in a way that complimented, complicated, and completed their own story. Not once did I feel like someone was just extra and I have no idea how she did it. It proves her brilliance as an author though, getting the reader invested in the entire cast of characters and not feel like they overshadowed.

Miller Hart.

“I was captivated. I was under his potent spell. He was speaking to me.”

He is probably one of the most devastating characters ever. So beautifully damaged. There are so many books out there compared to FSoG and I’ll admit, when I started the series I was making comparisons, it’s hard not to, but really there is no comparison. Miller Hart is no Christian, Jesse, Gideon, or any of the other book boyfriends that we’ve all grown to love — he is so much more. It’s going to take something epic to remove Miller from my number one.

“For all of the wrongs I have done and all that I am yet to do, I’m asking for your mercy.”

Unveiled finishes off the One Night trilogy like a supernova finishes off a star — in an explosion so big you’ll be shredded to pieces by each turn of the page. From tragedy to triumph and back again you won’t be able to step away from this all-consuming story of how a man stuck in darkness finds his light. Five deeply fascinated stars with five savored and worshiped drenched panties.

“One night that has evolved into one lifetime. The one night when I thought I’d only get twenty-four hours but hoped for more. Even now, amid the nightmare, I don’t regret accepting Miller’s offer.”
