When the news story explodes across the globe, Ben can endure the mockery and dirty jokes. But after his tragic past is cruelly revealed, his life begins to implode. Can even his love for James be worth this?
James has it no easier. His revelation divides the country and sparks turmoil within the royal family. He must struggle to defend not only himself and Ben, but also his younger sister, who hovers on the brink of a breakdown that could endanger her life.

His Royal Favorite is an emotionally charged conclusion to the His Royal Secret series by Lilah Pace. I fell in love with James and Ben in book one, I was rooting for them from the start, but their journey had barely just begun when book one ended. This second book takes you on an emotional rollercoaster filled with both heartbreak and love.
Out of the closet with his relationship to Ben exposed for one and all to see, James has to not only fight for his crown, but for the man he loves. Ben never wanted to be tied down. He lived a free lifestyle, constantly on the move with only enough possessions to fill two suitcases. Now, he’s living in the castle with the Prince Regent and an entire country watching his relationship unfold.
“I don’t hate you. I love you—so much, you don’t even know. More than I did when I first told you, more than I ever thought I could love another human being. I love you, but I hate this.”
There are so many moments in reading this book that I just wanted to smack Ben. I love him, but I hate him, but I love him. The man made things so much harder for himself than they needed to be, I get that there was a ton of pressure, but I’m a true romantic, and love like the kind he has with James, that should trump everything.
If you like reading male/male romance and you have a soft spot for sweet and sometimes syrupy love, you’ll love this series.
“No. Not without you. Being without you wasn’t freedom. Loving you is what sets me free.”
