Carrigan O'Malley has always known her arranged marriage would be more about power and prestige than passion. But after one taste of the hard-bodied, whiskey-voiced James Halloran, she's ruined for anyone else. Too bad James and his family are enemy number 1.
Hallorans vs. O'Malleys-that's how it's always been. James should be thinking more about how to expand his family's empire instead of how silky Carrigan's skin is against his and how he can next get her into his bed. Those are dangerous thoughts. But not nearly as dangerous as he'll be if he can't get what he wants: Carrigan by his side for the rest of their lives.

The O’Malleys are back and they are just as full of drama and danger as ever. I’m really enjoying this series and the dynamics between the different mob families. The feuding and the unconventional ways they create bonds between them to strengthen their positions. Katee Robert definitely has her hands full with these characters. So many different personalities and voices to make come to life and she does it with ease.
Carrigan O’Malley is being forced to pick a husband from a select pool of approved candidates. Her father is ruthless in his pursuit for power and his daughters are just pawns to be sacrificed however he sees fit. James Halloran is the enemy. His family has a reputation and no matter how he tries to right the wrongs of his father, it never seems to be enough with his brother undermining his authority.
Carrigan and James have an undeniable chemistry. I loved watching them burn hot and fizzle out cold. The push and pull keeps you wanting so much more and you can’t help rooting for them to find a way to be together.
You could read this book as a stand alone, but the experience will be more fulfilling if you’ve read book one first!
