I’ve been a huge fan of both the Magnus Pack sereis and the Pride Series which have overlapping characters. It’s not necessary to read the books in order, however there will be mild spoilers if you choose to read them out of order like I did. Wolf With Benefits follows Toni Jean-Louis Parker and Ricky Lee Reed, an unlikely friendship is forged despite all of Toni’s protests and she finds herself trusting Ricky Lee with her life.
Toni is part of a family full of prodigies, she sees herself as the only normal one of the group and therefore has taken the role of ring leader keeping her siblings lives on schedule and on track. Because of her loyalty to her Jackal family she’s let her own desires go to the wayside so much that she has no idea what she would even want to do with her life if it didn’t revolve around her family.
Ricky Lee is a wolf and can’t seem to keep the little spitfire Toni out of his head. Ricky Lee is one of my favorite of the wolves, he’s laid back, down to earth, protective of what is his, and exactly what Toni needs.
As far as storyline, you’re just going to have to read it because I’m not giving anything away. I will say this is an action packed story that has many twists and turns. There may be a few tears shed and a bunch of laughter not to mention some super steamy shifter smut.
Shelly Laurenston never disappoints and Wolf With Benefits is another perfect example of her ability to weave multiple characters and plot points together without overwhelming the reader. Four furry stars for this must read!
